pokemon amigurumi Rowlet

  • Yarn: Tan, white, orange, green
  • 3.5 mm crochet hook – fiber-fill stuffing
  • Felt: black and white (for the eyes) and felting needle if desired
  • Scissors, yarn needle for assembly


R(#): Round number
MR: magic ring
Sc: single crochet
Inc: increase (2 sc in same stitch)
Hdc: half double crochet
Dc: double crochet
Tr: treble/triple crochet
Dec: decrease (decrease 2 sc into one)
I recommend using Invisible Decrease
Ch: chain
Sl st: slip stitch
f/o: fasten off

Using tan:

R1. 6 Sc in MR (6)

R2. Inc around (12)

R3. ‘Sc 1, inc’ around (18)

R4. ‘Sc 2, inc’ around (24)

R5. ‘Sc 3, inc’ around (30)

R6. ‘Sc 4, inc’ around (36)

R7. ‘Sc 5, inc’ around (42)

R8-14. Sc around (42) seven times

R15. ‘Sc 5, dec’ around (36)

R16. Note: instructions enclosed by brackets [ ] are all worked into the same base stitch. In the first 3 stitches, work in the Front Loops Only (FLO) as follows:
[Hdc, Dc] in the 1st stitch, [Tr, Tr] in the 2nd stitch, [Dc, Hdc] in the 3rd stitch.
Change to white, and continue working in both loops as usual: Sc 7
Change to tan: Sc 1, then, working in FLO for the next 3 stitches:
[Hdc, Dc], [Tr, Tr,] [Dc, Hdc],
then continue on in both loops as usual: Sc 21 (36)

Using white – make 2:

F/o, leave a tail to sew onto head.


Make 2- using orange. Begin with the toes/claws:

F/o. Repeat again to make a second toe, but instead of f/o continue on, working onto the first piece to join:

Leaf Bow Tie

Make 2- using green:

ch 3. Turn/now work in 2nd loop from hook: Sc, [Hdc, Dc], ch 1 – continue working onto the other side of the chain: [Dc, Hdc], [sc, sl st.]

F/o leaving a tail for sewing to the body.


Using white:

R1. 6 in MR (6)

R2. Sc 3, change to orange: inc, inc change to white: sc 1, (8)

Using Tan:

R1. 4 Sc in MR (4)

R2. ‘Sc 1, inc’ around (6)

R3. ‘Sc 2, inc’ around (8)

R4. Sc around (8)

R5. ‘Sc 3, inc’ around (10)

F/o, leave a tail to sew to body.

Assembly of Crochet Rowlet

Assemble as shown in pictures- be sure to pin limbs in place before sewing to properly adjust position. Rowlet stands upright with the feet and tail as balance points.

Leaf Bow Tie: Sew on the green leaves above the white part of the stomach.

Eye Sockets and Beak- sew the Eye sockets next to each other above the bow tie, and the beak in between the eye sockets.
Facial details (eyes) were added by needle felting loose yarn ends . Alternatively, felt pieces can be glued on.
