Materials
- Yarn: yellow (light, shiny), brown, black, red (light)
- 3.5 mm crochet hook – fiber-fill stuffing
- Black and white felt, glue (for eyes)
- Embroidery thread/ sewing needle (mouth, nose details)
- Scissors, yarn needle for assembly
Abbreviations
R(#): Round number
MR: magic ring
Sc: single crochet
Inc: increase (2 sc in same stitch)
Dec: decrease (decrease 2 sc into one)
I recommend using Invisible Decrease

Tail
Begin with yellow
R1. Ch 16, sl st into 1st ch to form a ring
R2-6. Sc around (16) five times
R7. Sc 4, then ch 1 and leave the next 8sc in this round unworked, then continue in the round: Sc 4 (8)
R8. Sc around (skip the ‘chain1’/do not count as part of the round) (8)
R9. Ch 5, then working into the ‘first sc’ of this round: Sc around (13)

Change to brown yarn

Leave a long tail for sewing open edges closed and attaching to the body. With yellow, sew together the top part of the tail/ any open parts.
Back Stripes
Using brown yarn: surface crochet 6 sc across the back before attaching the tail.
Alternatively chain 6 in brown yarn and attach to back.
Cheeks
Make 2. Using red yarn- Ch3, sl st into 1st ch to form a loop. f/o
Heart
Using red:
R1. 6 sc in MR (6)
R2. Inc around (12)
R3. Sc around (12) f/o
Now make the other top half of the heart
R1. 6 sc in MR (6)
R2. Inc around (12)
R3. Sc around (12), Now, continue the next round on the first piece made:
R4. Sc 9, skip the remaining 3 sc on the first piece. Also skip 3 sc on the second piece in the center of the ‘heart’ and sc 9 (18) Now the two top halves are joined together.
Use the loose end from the first half to sew the unworked sc’s (3 from each half) together.
Continue on to make the rest of the heart:
R5. Dec, Sc 7, Dec, Sc 7 (16)
R6. ‘Sc 2, dec’ around (12)
