Flame
Chain a base of about 4. Fasten on strands of yellow and red yarn ends into the loops. Comb out red and yellow yarn to unwind and untwist the yarn into strands. Use a hair straightener on the ends to remove waves. This Yarn Tail tutorial by WarmSummerSun on Deviant art explains the method in great detail.
Assembly of Crochet Cyndaquil
Attach the arms and legs to the body and the snout to the head. Attach the blue stripe extending from the tip of the snout to the back. Attach the red strip with flame onto the back.

I was just wondering about the legs, after row 3, are you supposed to decrease around (row 4) or not?
Lisa
Hello! There was an error in the round numbering (fixed now) that I think was making things confusing. The answer is, no, do not decrease on round 4. Instead, Sc around (12) for rounds 3, 4, 5, and 6, and then decrease (6) on round 7.

Thank you! I was a bit confused.
