My journey to crochet the Eeveelutions continues with Espeon! Espeon is the psychic type Eeveelution from Generation II (Johto region.) It evolves from Eevee with high friendship in the day time. According to Pokedex entries it uses it’s psychic ESP power to protect it’s trainer from harm, and uses its forked tail to predict it’s opponents moves. Psychic powers aside, it is also just a super cute and elegant looking cat!
When completed, Espeon fits in the palm of an adult sized hand. I hope you enjoy crocheting this little Espeon!

Assembly of Crochet Espeon
Assemble as shown in pictures- be sure to pin limbs in place before sewing to properly adjust position.
Head: Attach the ears to either side of the head- pinch the ears flat and slightly bend to angle inward. Attach the whiskers just below each ear. Note that the whiskers are placed slightly higher on the head than a ‘normal’ whisker position (not on the cheeks, but under the ear.) The small tuft should be at the bottom of the whisker pieces.
Body: The ‘bumps’ on the body piece are meant to be thighs. Sew the feet over the bumps angling slightly outward. Attach the arms to the body, placing in between the feet, and so that the tips of the arms just touch the ground. The tail is sewn to the back of the body. Finally, the head is attached to the top of the body- again- pin in place first to find the position with the ‘proper centre of balance’ that allows Espeon to sit up without tipping forward or backward from the weight of the head.
Facial details were added by needle felting loose yarn ends . This technique was used to make the eyes, insides of the ears, and forehead jewel.
